The brand new vans are fitted with computer systems allowing the Haas CNC technicians web-based, real-time job information and machine history with a direct link to the UK parts holding inventory, which stands in excess of £1.8m. The computer systems also have access to the worldwide dealer forum.

We are pleased to announce a 1st call fix rate of 95.1%, a figure that keeps on improving.

Employing 30 full-time, Haas has one of the highest service engineer to installation ratios of any UK machine tool distributor, so we’ll always have an engineer close to you.

We maintain over £1,800,000 stock of service parts at our purpose built facilities, and thanks to our 95% on-shelf parts availability combined with our dedicated stock-control software you can be assured of a rapid response to your needs.

Customer Testimonials:

Headline Filters Limited
“We have been using Haas machines for many years and are currently considering adding yet another lathe to our collection.
“Over the years I’ve always been very pleased with the consistently high level of service we get from Haas. On the occasions when our older machines develop a fault, a simple telephone call to Haas reception is all that’s required to get in touch with the Service Department & then to an Engineer. The Engineers are excellent at diagnosing faults & in many cases the problem can be dealt with over the phone in order to keep our production going.
“On other occasions when we can’t fix the problem ourselves, we typically see the Engineer the next day or even later that afternoon. In the event of the Engineer not having the correct parts on his vehicle, these are shipped in & always arrive around 7:30am the next day. Our most recent breakdown was traced to a worn solenoid valve, the Engineer had the necessary part on his van, fitted it, and got our machine going in less than an hour.
“In all cases, every possible part that could be required is shipped in for the Engineer. Any parts not required are collected the next day & are never installed unless absolutely required. This honest philosophy, together with realistically priced spare parts & highly competent staff make the upkeep of even our older machines viable.
“I look forward to many more years dealing with Haas.”
Scott Hardiman. Works Manager.

Titan Motorsport Limited
“I’m a big fan of Haas and currently have over 20 of their CNC machines. We’ve got a service contract, so our machines are frequently serviced and are very reliable. If we ever have a problem, the Haas service engineers are with us within 24hrs. For example, the other day, one of our machines was showing a low oil pressure warning. The service engineer arrived early the next day and fitted a new pump.”
Paul Littledyke. Operations Director.

BBR Engineering Limited
“The service we’ve had from Haas has been excellent. Our VF-3 vertical developed a problem, which we reported at 11 o’clock that morning. By 2 o’clock we’d confirmed with the Haas service department that we needed a new spindle and that a technician would be with us the next day. He arrived at 8 o’clock the next morning, with a new spindle, which was fitted and aligned that day. The machine has been faultless ever since.”
Brian Randall. Managing Director.

Woodbridge Engineering Limited
“We’ve always had great service and support from Haas. To give an example; one of our operators knocked the spindle on our SL-30 lathe out of alignment. The Haas service engineer was here the following day, with all the parts he needed and fixed the machine.
Malcolm Bloomfield. Managing Director.

Greenwich University
“The service that the University has received from Haas has been exemplary, from the initial decision making stage, through the sales and ordering process, installation and after sales support.
“We’re able to call the applications department for advice and they’ve always managed to provide us with the solutions we need, whether over the telephone or in person. Haas have given us some CNC control simulators, so our students can test their programming skills without the danger of crashing one of our real Haas machines. The online training that Haas offers has proved invaluable both to students and staff.”
Ian Cakebread. Senior CNC Lecturer.

Coldon Engineering Limited
“The Haas service is great. They always have the spares we need in stock, don’t charge the earth for them, and as long as we call their service department before 4:30pm they’ll get the parts to us first thing next morning. If we need a service engineer to visit they’ll be here the same day or within 24hrs. I fully recommend Haas.”
Gary Markham. Director.

Improved productivity
– access to Haas’ online and offline engineering support has enable us to improve our productivity through the application of specific machine tools and innovative fixturing to some of our customer’s more complex requirements

Sustained production under pressure
– one of the more significant effects of current recession and ‘Credit Crunch’ has been a step change in customer’s demands. Customers now expect very quick turn around on small batches of complex components at a much more competitive price. Providing this type of service has put huge sustained pressure on our production facilities, however Haas has supported us in every way to ensure we operate our machine tools at maximum uptime.

Minimal delays when breakdowns arise
– with some of our customers we offer JIT services, consequently breakdown response it critical to our ability to continue to provide
this service. Haas will provide same day response if required or next day service at the very latest, even with some of our older Haas machine tools their Service Engineers always have the necessary spare parts in the their extensively stocked service vehicles.

Availability and expertise of staff
– in our experience Haas service and support staff are always available to deal with our enquiries either on the telephone, email or face to face. They are knowledgeable and experienced and support us across a range of needs from advice on the availability of the correct spare parts or complex machine tool applications.

Level of training provided on or off site
– the level of training we receive from Haas is first class. On or offsite training sessions are very professionally run and normally tailored to our specific needs to ensure minimum operator downtime. We hold stocks of some common parts on our premises in March, which thanks to Haas training we are able to fit ourselves, to keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
We have also invested in Haas CNC Programming Simulators, which enables us to train our own personnel to different levels of programming capability. In addition we also have access to Haas’ online CNC Programming e-learning facility (LearnHaas.com), which enables our employees to access online training facilities from their own homes and contribute to their own professional development.
We first started working with Haas in 2001 when we invested in our first new  state of the art CNC machine tool; this was effectively the start of the successful partnership between our two organisations.
The Haas family of CNC machine tools are ideal for our type work we operate a range of models from the small footprint Mini Mill up to the Haas VF-7 with a 2M bed and full 4th axis capability, as well as the compact Haas SL10 turning model.
HAAS has and continues to contribute significantly to the business success of PCML; their support has been invaluable to our success.

In summary HAAS adds real value to our partnership:

  • As a strategic partner they help us with doing the right things for the long term success of the business

  • As a tactical partner, they help us with our short term needs and are able to pull out all the stops when necessary to ensure our operational needs are met at all times.

  • They are totally committed to supplying products of very high quality.

  • They are also able to normally guarantee product availability at all times.

  • Because they are a trusted partner for whom nothing is to much trouble

Based on the above, I have no hesitation in recommending HAAS for the award and wish them all the very best in their application. They certainly deserve the recognition such an important award would give them.
Kevin Miller. Technical Director.
